The Corporation of the Town of Tecumseh (Town) is seeking proposals for the services of qualified professionals (Proponent) to complete the preliminary and detailed design including approvals, prepare the tender package and provide consulting services during construction for the Lesperance Road Multi-Use Path project including; the construction of a 3.0m-wide asphalt multi-use path on the west side of Lesperance Road from Riverside Drive to McNorton Street; the construction of a 3.0m wide asphalt multi-use path on north side of Little River Boulevard from Lesperance Road to Gauthier Street; and the construction of a minimum 3.0m wide (potentially up to 5 or 6 metres in width) concrete multi-use path (or ‘promenade’) on the west side of Lesperance Road from McNorton Street to First Street. The project will also incorporate the Town’s Community Improvement Plan (CIP) enhancements within the project area such as decorative pathway lighting, municipal parking lot reconfigurations and improvements, and the installation of street trees complete with Silva-Cell underground structures for those trees installed within hard surfaces. (see Figure 1 - Project Site Plan). This project is being funded in part by the Government of Canada through the Active Transportation Fund, a federal infrastructure program designed to fund projects that expand and enhance active transportation networks with an objective to increase total amount, usage, and quality of active transportation infrastructure throughout Canada. The fund seeks to encourage active transportation use, increase community resilience, and enhance impacts of other modes of transit. The expected services (further explained in Section B) include:
